Apple Keyboard With Cable

broken image

The Apple Keyboard is a keyboard designed by Apple Inc. First for the Apple line, then the Macintosh line of computers. Dozens of models have been released over time, including the Apple Extended Keyboard.Currently, Apple offers only three keyboards via Bluetooth: Magic Keyboard (silver only), and Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (silver or space gray). Follow these steps to set up your Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, or Magic Trackpad 2: Connect a Lightning to USB Cable 1 or a USB-C to Lightning Cable to the Lightning port on the device 2 and connect the other end of the cable to your Mac. Make sure that the device's power switch is in the ON position.

I have an older Mac Pro (Leopard) I am reconfiguring where I am physically putting things & I need to extend the USB chord that comes off of the keyboard & plugs into the monitor. I bought a run of the mill USB extender and it won't work! It will work with other devices but not the Keyboard/Mouse. I tried also plugging the Keyboard/Mouse into a Belkin USB hub, again other devices work, but not the Keyboard/Mouse. Do I need a special cable? Why does it seem that the Keyboard/Mouse only works when plugged directly into the monitor's USB port?
